Was ist ein FARBFELD / COLOR FIELD
Die Serie FARBFELDER besteht aus kleinformatigen Leinwandbildern, deren Stoffüberzüge und eingearbeitete Ornamente einen eigenen Rhythmus und Linienverlauf in den Untergrund zeichnen. Darüber liegen lasierte Schichten aus Ölfarbe. Beide Ebenen - Stoff und Farbe - gehen miteinander in Schwingung.
Im Zentrum steht die Faszination von Farbe und Licht: ihre Tiefe, ihre Transparenz und ihre Fähigkeit, Emotionen und Erinnerungen hervorzurufen. Das Sichtbare entsteht in den Augen der Betrachtenden, die Abstraktion öffnet Möglichkeiten,- sehe ich Himmelbilder, mikro-fotografische Ausschnitte oder meine Zukunft?
Paul Cézanne formulierte: „Für die Malerin sind nur die Farben wahr. Ein Bild stellt nichts dar, soll zunächst nichts darstellen als Farben.“ Farbe wird hier nicht nur zur Darstellung eingesetzt, sondern selbst zum Erlebnis und zum emotionalen Raum.
The FARBFELDER series consists of small-format canvas paintings whose fabric coverings and incorporated ornaments create their own rhythm and lines on the surface. Over these lie glazed layers of oil paint. Both layers – fabric and paint – resonate with one another.
At the heart of the work lies a fascination with colour and light: their depth, their transparency and their ability to evoke emotions and memories. What is visible arises in the eyes of the viewer; abstraction opens up possibilities – am I seeing images of the sky, micro-photographic details or my future?
Paul Cézanne put it this way: ‘For the painter, only colours are real. A painting does not depict anything; it should initially represent nothing but colours.’ Here, colour is not merely used for representation, but becomes an experience in itself and an emotional space.
